"Dia de los Muertos" or Day of the Dead is a Mexican memorial celebration which takes place each year on November 1st. and 2nd. On these days it is believed the dead return to visit with the living. The first day of the festival is for the spirits of the children and the second day is for the adult spirits. The living receives the dead with merriment, music and all their favorite foods and drink. These humorous skeletons presented here are handmade for the celebration to decorate home altars and the cemeteries.
